WWYD? Doctor related
I am taking DD for her one year check up on Tuesday. Today was her first birthday party, and I have noticed today, and the past few days, she has been hitting her right ear quite a bit, and shrugging her shoulder up to that ear on her right side. Should I call the pediatrician Monday to get in earlier, or just wait until Tuesday. It's definitely been going on a few days

i say if she is "functional" and it doesn't bother her in terms of sleeping and eating, I would just wait until Tuesday....

I would call to see if they can see you monday. It wouldn't hurt. DS had an ear infection on Monday, but showed no signs.
Happy Belated Birthday to DD!!!!!!!! I CANNOT believe she is 1 year old!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with AP that if she seems ok, I would just watch it. Sasha plays with her ears a lot (and I am always thinking- maybe she has an ear infection), but I think a lot of what they phsycially do now is exploration and "hey, I can do that!"... so, unless she seems upset, it may be nothing.

It is highly likely that it is just teething

Yep, she doesn't seem upset by it AT ALL. Not running a fever, and sleeping/eating like her normal self. I will ride it out until Tuesday! Thanks, ladies

Re: WWYD? Doctor related
It is hard to say - my DD#1 used to pull on her ears and get cranky from time to time I thought she had an ear infection so I would take her or when we had a well visit I would mention it and my ped would always laugh and say NOPE. Then yesterday I took DD#2 who I thought had been teething for her well visit - no fever, no runny nose - just a little fussy (put her down she cries pick her up and immediately she smiles and laughs), but she is shoving everything into her mouth and chewing on everything she can get her hands on and drooling - and presto she has a severe double ear infection.
