WWYD: DH's car parts got broken at bachelor party
DH just called me and his brand new Hella driving lights that he put on his car are broken. The "bachelor" got himself falling down drunk and passed out on hubby's car and then puked on it and slid down the car taking the new light with him ( he is not a small guy). He wasn't even parked on the driveway, he was parked in the street. Bachelor had to walk past all the otehr cars to get to DH's. DH was so excited when he got these and put them on.
What do i do? Let is go and spend the money for more, they weren;t too expensive but we just bought a house and money is tight.
Do i contact the bachelor? The bride to be? The bachelor is DH's cousin and we are close to both bachelor and his bride to be.
WWYD??

Ugh...sorry!
Maybe wait till Sunday afternoon when the groom-to-be is sobered up...and maybe give a ring to say "Hey, how you feeling? By the way...my car.." and explain what happened and see what he says.

I would ask DH how he wanted to handle it. Money is tight, but it's his friend, his car.
If it were my friend, I would let it go unless they offered to pay it & then I'd *probably* take them up on it or let it go depending on the definition of "weren't too expensive"

If I were YOU, I wouldn't do anything. You weren't there and I don't think it's your place to get involved.
If I were your DH, I'd let the bachelor know (in a day or two when he sobers up) what happened. I'd bring it up in a casual way -- "I'm gald you had fun. Man you were trashed -- I want to kill you because you broke my brand new Hella lights!" See if bachelor is nice enough to offer to pay to replace them. Then your DH just needs to decide if he wants to ask him to replace them or let it go.
Depending on the price, I'd probably let it go unless he offered to pay to replace them.
I know you say he had to walk to get to DH's car... but if the guy was falling down drunk, I hardly think he knew what he was doing or was targeting your DH.
If I were the bachelor, I'd offer to pay for them if I found out about it. I'm guessing he doesn't even remember doing it or them breaking...

The bachelor is DH's cousin. I know he didn't "target" DH's car, it just happened to be his car, that is why he parked on the street but i guess it didn't help. I think maybe this afternoon or tomorrow, he will let him know about it.

Sorry this happened, I wouldn't be a happy camper if this was me. I don't really get why a bachelor has to get literally falling down drunk, but that's a different thread...
I agree with PP;you don't do anything. Let dh handle it; his family and he was there.
