WWYD- Antibiotics
I am 38 weeks today. Since Saturday morning I have had a sore throat, congestion, and coughing all on and off. I finally was able to get an appointment with the nurse practitioner at my drs office today. She tested for strep (neg) and said my lungs sound clear. She said it is most likely viral, however bc it's been 5 days she gave me amoxicillin. I'm feeling a little better so I am hesitant to take it and am waiting a call back from my ob. Would you girls take it or would you see if you could get over it on your own? I'm also concerned because I have GD and may be induced sometime next week depending on baby's size. Any advice?

Re: WWYD- Antibiotics
I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant. For the past two weeks I've had a horrible cough (was originally just a nasty cold, now it some kind of infection/bronchitis). I've tried this whole time to just fight it out on my own (I didn't think the cold was bad enough for antibiotics), but I finally broke down and started on amoxicillin. I'm honestly glad I did, I already feel better and the cough is fading. My doctor told me that amoxicillin is considered a safe drug for pregnant women. Definitely talk to your doctor if you have concerns. I really wish I had started on the antibiotics sooner, these have been two miserable weeks. Good luck!
