WWYD?
I am 30 yo and I have always had a history of irregular periods. My cycle can be anywhere from 30 to 80 days. When I finally get my period, it lasts one day, with only spotting thereafter. That can't be right.
I know I need to see a dr. about this, but I am very anti-doctor. My health insurance is an HMO and there are only limited drs. I can go to. I probably need to change plans.
DH and I are very interested in trying to conceive within the next year. Would you recommend going straight to an RE just based on gut instinct?

Re: WWYD?
You should go to your regular GYN first....You most likely have PCOS and he/she can put you on Clomid and have you monitor your cycle to see if you ovulate. He/She will also do some bloodwork to verify what is exactly going on.......

Re: WWYD?
Having PCOS and two very different experiences with my GYN vs. the RE, I say go for the RE is your ins. covers it. Or at least for a consult and see if they are willing to discuss your case and treatment options with your GYN. Good luck!!
