WWYD - Glucose Test....
So, I failed my 2nd 1 hour.... (I had GD with my DD so I had to take the 1 hour at 10 weeks, which I passed with this pregnancy, and then again this past week).
I failed by 5 lousy points....
I have the option to skip the 3 hour and just say I have GD again and go on with the GD diet and blood sugar testing.
OR
Go through the horried 3 hour (Yes, I feel like the 3 hour is horried), and hope I pass it since my 1 hour number was borderline.
WWYD??
Just curious.
TIA!

Re: WWYD - Glucose Test....
I am kind of in the same boat, except my # was so high that my doctor still suggested I go for the 3-hour. Part of me was going to say, I will just skip it but he said he has heard of women that do still pass it and he suggests I just go.
Not looking forward to it at all, but what can you do.
In your case, since you know what GD is all about, had it and have been down that road before I might skip it in your case.
Good luck whatever you decide.

Re: WWYD - Glucose Test....
I don't know what the GD diet is like, but the thought of the 3-hour test is just awful to me so I'd go with the diet and call it a day, especially since you've been through it already.

Re: WWYD - Glucose Test....
I had also failed the 1-hour by 5 points. Part of me wanted to be positive for GD because I think it might be the only diet I would ever stick to in my entire life. But of course I didn't want to have GD.
Since you have already had to go through it, you know better than I do what is more annoying, the 3-hour test or dealing with GD for the next couple months.
Good luck!
ETA: I did fail the 1-hour by 5 points and I passed the 3-hour without a problem. I don't know if that means anything to you or not.

Re: WWYD - Glucose Test....
i failed the 1 hour miserably so my dr had me skip the 3-hour all together.
you can always go on the diet/blood sugar testing and if you see that your numbers are never high, then you can ask to be retested!

Re: WWYD - Glucose Test....
I had GD last pregancy and will assume I will have it again this time around. I will not have any blood tests to confirm unless necessary and will follow the diet I did last time.

Re: WWYD - Glucose Test....
Thanks ladies!
My eating these days is all over the place, with running around after DD all day. I'm also worried with how crazy the day gets with a toddler that I will forget to test my blood sugar levels at the appropriate times.
However, I did opt to take the 3 hour just in case... I had that awful stomach virus too over the weekend and was SO sick on Sunday (my test was Monday). My OB said today too that, it's possible being sick also affected my results. I know last pregnancy, I got really sick and it definately messed with my blood sugar levels.
Last time I failed my 1 hour miserably, so I think I'm going to suck it up and take teh 3 hour.
