WW: Dinner Time Managment Issue

I work until 6 pm and it takes me at least 1/2 hr to get get home. Sometimes I have to stop a run and errand or so. DH & I try to eat together each night, so this means we might not sit down till about 8pm. I feel like this is too late for WW standards. Yes, no...maybe so?

ALSO....I am going to start going to the gym a few nights a week to take classes. I wont be able to eat until I get home, is this counter productive?

TIA!!!!

Re: WW: Dinner Time Managment Issue

According to WW, it doesn't matter when you eat. A calorie is a calorie- whether you consume that calorie at 8AM or 8PM.

As far as taking classes at night, I actually will be encountering the same issue. I usually get home from work at 6PM, my bootcamp class is at 7PM. I'm trying to figure out when I want to eat!! (And at the same time how I will feed DH). For me, that's a scheduling issue. I want to find quick, easy things for those nights. They will probably be sandwich nights.

But its definatly not counterproductive to eat after a hard workout. In fact, you should be eating!!

100% this. Your body doesn't know time of day, it only knows calories in vs. calories out in a 24-hour period.

I work until 9pm some nights so there are two nights a week DH and I don't eat dinner until 9:30-10pm. We NEVER eat dinner before 8pm, because he's never home that early. This only affects my weight management IF I make poor choices because I'm too hungry. But if I still make decent choices, time of day does not affect weight management.

Re: WW: Dinner Time Managment Issue

This happens to us sometimes. We also go to the gym and there have been times where we would work out first and eat later...at lik 9pm, ughh.

Lately I am trying to make it a point to eat as soon as we get home 6:30/7. Sometimes I prep things the day before or a few days before (chopping onions or making/freezing soups, chili, etc.) Also DH works from home alot so he helps out with prepping or getting things started. After the new year I said I really want to eat before the gym and so far it was worked this whole week. My only issue is when we eat early I am starving later, by 10/11 I am belly rumbles so I guess its a double edge sword!

I never eat dinner earlier then 8. I think an important thing (outside of WW) is to not lay down afterwards. If you eat and just lie on the sofa to watch TV it won't digest properly.
