WTC Museum?
I have family visiting from out of town in May and they want to go to the WTC Museum/Memorial. Do you still need to get tickets really far in advance? Does it fill up? Any other tips/advice that you can share would be great.

WTC Museum?
The memorial is free. The museum is $24 for adults. IMO the museum is not for kids. My 8 yr old niece was very bored. There is one exhibit where it states no children allowed, but people brought them in anyway (very graphic/voice recordings).
Have patience. You can be there for several hours.

Re: WTC Museum?
I went with visiting family on a Saturday in early January and we got tickets about two hours before we were allowed entry. In retrospect, I wish we had made a plan for those couple of hours (like quick lunch nearby or something). I agree with the other poster that it's not a great place to bring children under maybe 10 years old, the images and audio are very intense (obviously).

Re: WTC Museum?
We got tickets to the museum right before we wanted to go in, I just got them online on my phone. No waiting.
We went with our kids, 7 and 3. The 3 yr old just chilled in his stroller, my 7 yr old actually enjoyed it. She had a lot of questions about 9/11 up to that point so it was an interesting experience for her to see the museum. They had one area that was geared towards children and we ended up meeting a really nice woman who worked there and she was an actual 9/11 survivor. She spent a while with us sharing her story and explaining 9/11 in a way that resonated with my DD.
There were other children there too the day we went, some bored, some engaged. It really just depends on the kid. That is your call as the parent.
ETA - We didn't go into the one area where they had the more graphic pics and voice recordings. I felt that would be too intense for the kids. We just walked the museum looking at pictures, remnants of the towers, the pictures of those we lost, etc. They did a beautiful job on the museum overall.
