Wow....Ledger's apt. already rented.
New York Magazine article...and link I found. Corcoran isn't saying "heath ledger's place"....but they list 421 Broome St. as a new listing, with photos.
Looking for a spiffy new place? Corcoran has got just the thing! A three-bedroom, two-bath, 4,400-square-foot space with a gourmet kitchen, office, and balcony overlooking the heart of Soho. Amenities include fifteen-foot tin ceilings, cast-iron columns, exposed-brick walls, a wood-burning fireplace, and one unique feature that will really impress your friends and co-workers: It's the very apartment in which Heath Ledger died. Yes, a scant two weeks after Ledger overdosed in his apartment at 421 Broome Street, his place is apparently already on the market. This is New York, after all, and as one broker tells the Post, "You don't wait around in a hot rental market like this." The cocktail-party anecdote that living in the deceased actor's pad will provide is going to cost you, though: According to the Post, the place is going for $25,000 a month now, $3,000 up from what Ledger started renting it for back in September. But that’s nothing compared with what they're going to start asking for it once someone says it's haunted.

I don't know, no one is paying the rent, you can't blame them for trying to rent it out. If they were advertising it as Heath Ledger's apartment, I'd have a problem with it, but I don't really see the issue with it being advertised for rent already.

For the record, I have no issue with it. It's just sad. But, I get it. Real estate in the city goes like hotcakes as it is...there was no reason not to list it. It's just sad. Notice--no photos of the bedroom.

Wow, they really cleaned that out quick. Maybe these are old photos?
So sad...it's like yesterday's news already...

How do we know for sure that it's his apartment? Weren't there reports that he was the only one in the building, it could be another apartment listed. It could also be an old listing.

it's a new listing. If you go to Corcoran's home page, you will see under "new listings"--421 Broome St.

Wow. Now that's pretty morbid. I can't believe it was rented so quickly.

Right--so even the article I posted from New York magazine is outdated--that fast

Yes, there is a photo of the bedroom. Click the "more photos" link - it's there...has a brick wall in it.
It is sad, but it's also business. Life moves on, and no one ever expected the apartment to become a living memorial to him...it's not Graceland, it was merely a rental.

Re: Wow....Ledger's apt. already rented.
About a day or so after he died, a news program showed an apartment that was listed online and they were saying that it was a a mirror image of the one that Heath Ledger died in, and that it was for rent in the same building. They were using the other listing as a way to give viewers an idea of the layout of the apartment. I am not sure if we would be able to tell if the new Corcoran listing is that other apartment from the building.
