Wow, really quite rude!
Some of my coworkers were talking about locks of love, and somehow got on the topic of how they don't like men with long hair. So I said, Hey, my husband has long hair. And one guy says, "Doesn't mean it looks good." I thought that was SO rude!  I know it's not everyone's favorite, but no need to insult my preferences or my husband.
update: Oops! They actually said it purposely out loud so I could hear it (since you can hear everything in the lab). One coworker sort of apologized, but not the one who made the comment. Although she said that he really didn't mean it to insult my DH. She was trying to smooth things over. Oh well, I guess its fine. It just struck me as really rude at first and took me by surprise.

As the wife of a long-haired hubby myself, I have to say that people for some reason don't hold back when it comes to that.
What if he were fat? Would people say, "You know, Liza - your husband is fat, and I don't think its very attractive..."
People suck.

Ah, I'm so bad at that. I just got quiet and said that what he said was really mean and rude. It made me feel bad for my DH. I don't like people saying crap about him.  We have all gone out for drinks in the past (with my DH around), and now I don't want to go out with them, knowing what they said about him.

No, azzhole. But you didn't have to say that it didn't look good on him.

well i can understand people saying that they don't like guys with long hair - but to make that comment about your DH directly, oh that would make me so mad!
my DH shaves his head, and if someone told me that they didn't like bald guys, i wouldn't be offended unless they pulled something like your co-worker did. to each his own, but there's no need to be rude about it, ya know?
 i am sure your DH looks great!

When guys talk about how other guys look, it usually jealousy.....
Either that, or he has a secret crush on your DH.

Like most things they will never say it to his face and if they do I'm sure he can take care of it himself.
Oh, I know...but this really made me mad. My DH doesn't talk sh*t about them behind their backs, even if they are brought up in conversation.
