Would you take a 2yo and 4yo to Dutch Wonderland alone?
I'm considering taking the boys alone. Our summer weekends are quickly getting filled. The weekend we were supposed to go, DH ended up accepting call so he has to stay home.
Do you think DW is doable by myself with the boys?
My 4yo is a good listener. I'm worried about the 2yo sprinting. I would take the double stroller with me.
ETA: My current options are:
A. Go with two other families. Both other families have two parents and one child each.
B. Go with my parents for one day and be solo for one day.
C. Skip DW this year.

I would! Maybe you can get a friend to go with you though too JIK? I'm sad we aren't going this summer, maybe in September..I love that park!

I would go but would probably avoid the water park. I find the water area very stressful for some reason.

You know your kids best. I don't think I could with my boys. I do a lot with the two of them, but probably not a theme park. Then again I am from nj so don't know DW. I think of Great Adventure and wouldn't do it.
My 4 year old is good, but my 23 month old is a runner ans wanderer. I would feel bad leaving the LO in the double all day.
Like I said... I don't know DW though. I guess on a quieter day that's not too hot would be ok.

I am and did.
Last year my kids were 4 and 21 months and we went - they had a great time! Worst thing for the baby was that she couldn't go on everything her big sister could (but she could go on plenty anyway).
We are going in 2 weeks and they are 5 and 33 months. It's going to be a blast.
The park is not that big, but there is a lot to do. And it's geared to the preschoolers so it's just their size and speed.

We are there right now and I saw plenty of people there and it was just one parent and 2-3 kids.. There was one woman there with a newborn, 18 month old, and 4 year old... She says she does it a lot..

I feel like whenever I go out with another family, I am constantly asking for help. i.e. asking a parent to watch younger DS while I take older DS to the bathroom. asking to stand in line with older DS while I chase younger DS.
B. Have my parents come with me one day and be solo with the boys by myself the other day. My parents have some important church event on Sunday that they cannot miss. They said they will meet me in Lancaster or Hershey Friday night, spend all day Saturday with me and drive home Sat night.
C. Just skip DW this year.
I'm thinking it is going to be C.

I have taken my kids to a lot of places alone, including Great Adventure, Jenkinsons (small amusement park in NJ), but I wouldn't take them there. It is too crowded.
I would actually recommend StoryBook Land in Egg Harbor, NJ. They have a nice amount of rides, very shaded, it isn't overwhelming and you can easily do it as a day trip depending where you live. The rides aren't really close together and it is really clean.

The one time we went to GA it was a nightmare! Sooo crowded, music blaring, teens walking around in bikini tops. Not a fan! Dutch Wonderland is perfect for little ones.

I guess it depends when you are going. I live 20 minutes from GA so I went durning the week and stayed in the kiddie area. DW I did on a weekend and it was nuts. We went twice and both times got there as soon as it opened.

I'm in the minority here because I would never do that unless I was divorced or something. I COULD handle it and I've taken my three to the aquarium and White Post and stuff alone but there's no way I'd be doing a road trip and staying over and eating all my meals out alone with them. I'd be too lonely, honestly.

OMG, you are me. I was reading this and thought to myself-- I could totally handle the actual park with two kids that age, but I am such a nervous driver in new places, it would be the DRIVE that freaked me out.

ITA with this. While I definitely COULD do it, I don't think I would want to.
It just would be too stressful and not fun for me at all.
I would go with Option A. If you are going with other families, I'm sure they don't mind watching one of the kids for a few minutes here or there.
I don't mind at all and if the other child was the same age as mine, I would totally take them for even a hour or 2 to help entertain my kid.

I'm not familiar with Dutch Wonderland because I live out of state, but I bring my 2 and 4 year old to Six Flags on my own. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer.... Just have to decide what you're comfortable with.
And for the record, I would not bring my 2 and 4 year old to a water park alone, if that applies.
