Would you take a 1yo to a Cirque du Soleil show?
I haven't been to a real show since I was pregnant in 2008. I would love to go see Cirque du Soleil OVO. We'd be spending $100+ per ticket. Not sure if it is appropriate to take 1yo DS. he has never been to a movie or regular kiddie show yet.
Would you take DS? Should we leave him at home?

IMO - I would leave him at home.
If you want to take him to a show take him to Sesame Live or something more child appropriate.

No, I would leave him at home and enjoy yourself out for the evening.

I agree.
My Dad wants to take Christopher to a show, and decided on a circus show.

Nope, DS is almost 11 months and sometimes loud stuff frightens him a bit. I think the show is going to be very loud and may startle your DS at times
You go and enjoy and take DS to another child friendly show.

Nope. DH and I will be seeing this show alone.

Not My DS. He would be trying to climb up the performers. I think its too young. Go with DH alone and you will have a much better time.

no - imho those shows can be kinda 'trippy' - they freak me out a teensy bit...i can't imagine how a child would react.

Re: Would you take a 1yo to a Cirque du Soleil show?
no! ive been to about 7 Cirque Du Soleil shows and the last time I went i was pregnant with DD, and in front of us was a grandma, mother, and a 10-12 month old. I just looked and wondered... whats the point... they ended up leaving at intercession and not coming back. its loud and i dont think necessary for a 1 yr old. i think when they're about 3-4 its fine.

No. They aren't really child friendly/appropriate.
