Would you leave this space open??

I have a pretty big foyer that we don't use for "living space" if you know what I mean.

I like the feel of it being open, but at the same time almost everyone who enters my home says "Wow, this is like another room"

Old pic's, but all I have against one wall now is a table and mirror (Pic shown), another small table in the corner next to the French doors and under the window, which you can't see in this pic I have a bench.

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure if I am getting the right visual of the room from these pictures but how about a foyer table with a large area rug underneath.

Great space BTW

Similiar to these pics:

I want your entryway.Chat Icon

I'd probably put a small table and 1 chair in that room, or a chaise lounge to sit on to read a book.

Or, some seating to wait for your teenage children that are returning at 3 am so you can bust them. Chat Icon

This site has beautiful things but $$$$, So look on homedecorators.com or jcpenney, etc for similar tables.

Restoration Hardware has one similiar to the 2nd one but its a bit $$

Resto

OR

if you or DH are handy you could make one with 2 demilune tables.

Gorgeous! I would do as the pp said to put the round table and a chandelier, also we did a round (its actually an octogon rug) in the middle creates a nice focal point got one cheap at Marshalls and everyone compliments us on it.External Image External Image

Re: Would you leave this space open??

Agreed with everyone's ideas above!

My other suggestion would have been (and only b/c I don't know the setup of your home and what rooms you have) would be a sitting room or parlor.

Beautiful btw! Chat Icon
