Would you fly at 30weeks?
I originally had planned on flying to Anguilla with DH for a babymoon when I will be 28 weeks. Thing is, if we go 2 weeks later, the price of the hotel and flight literally drops in half . The vacation was pricey to begin with so I feel like I should be practical and change the dates. But I don't know if that is too late to fly.
My only other option is to keep my dates as is, and choose another destination. But I REALLY wanted to go to Anguilla,.
WWYD? Honest opinions welcome

Re: Would you fly at 30weeks?
How long is the flight? I think I will be flying at 32w (as long as I get Dr's approval) but it will be either to Florida or somewhere close.
I don't think that 2 weeks will make much of a difference. I would clear it with your doctor, they may make the decision for you.

My Dr. basically said that airlines won't let you fly past 32 weeks. Otherwise it's fine.

acutally you can fly up to 39 weeks - most airlines won't question you because they could get sued for insulting a women thinking she is further along then she is
it all matters how comfy you are - and make sure you get up and walk around as much as you can on the flight - i might also get the socks that help circulation for a longer flight
at 34 weeks i got stuck on the tarmac for 2 hours and then had and hour and hlaf flight and i was fine

Re: Would you fly at 30weeks?
I think you would be fine at that date as long as your having a complication free pregnancy. .
and actually you can fly most airlines up to 7 days before your due date unless you are international. . then airlines will still let you fly up to 72 hours with a doctors note. . some have the 32 week 'suggested' rule but it's not enforced unless you have real signs of labor. .
here is the link for most major airlines. . but like I said i know for a fact continental which has the strictest 'suggested' will still let you fly up to your DD. .
i did a lot of research into this bc I flew every week before I lost my job. .
this link is pretty accurate if you want to look at some of the policies. .

Yes, as long as I had no bad swelling or other issues.

Do you mind my asking why? Do you feel there is too much risk associated with it or is it just because you personally would be uncomfortable on a plane (physically) at that point?

Re: Would you fly at 30weeks?
I'm 30 weeks now and not sure I'd physically feel comfortable flying long distances....how long is the flight there? My doctor told me no flying after 30 weeks but I know that doctors opinions can vary greatly. Did you ask your doctor for her opinion?

Re: Would you fly at 30weeks?
I would not but just because I had a very negative flying experience when I was pregnant with DS.
At 27 weeks I flew to Aruba. The flight was about 4.5 hours. Got there so swollen. The flight back was even worse. When I got off the plane I cried because it hurt so bad to walk my skin was stretched that much.
Anyway, a week later I wound up with high blood pressure. And my pregnancy was never easy or low risk after that.
2 hospitalizations and 8 weeks of bed rest later I finally had delivered DS.
I swore I would never travel again during pregnancy.

Those reasons (uncomfortable, possible swelling) and nervous for something God firbid to happen with the baby and to be out of the country or not within driving distance to my doc/hospital. But I'm a nervous nelly in general.

Re: Would you fly at 30weeks?
absolutely, if you are feeling well. I am flying to Anguilla next week at 29 weeks! My dr. said anything before 34 weeks is fine and after that only if you really need to. It is a pretty short flight.
