Would you find this odd?
DH and I met with a mortgage broker about 3 weeks ago and we were preapproved for a mortgage. Well, I contacted him two days ago and asked him to send me a good faith disclosure indicating what each area of all the closing costs would be. I told him I wanted to make an offer on a house sooner than later if he could send me the numbers, etc.. I have not heard back. Left messages ... nothing. I think I should just go meet with someone else at this point..

Perhaps you are right. I forgot it was passover and he's Jewish I believe.
I just don't want to have our reports ran again. It was only run once. How many times can you have it checked before it effects your credit?
Thanks.

If the hoildays were a reason, he should of said something in advance or even changed his voicemail or left a forwarding number (if he was that intrested in making a sale, he should and would of called back)
If you credit is ran again, its' not held against you as creditors will see your shopping for a home and will have multple inquires on your one house purchase.

Re: Would you find this odd?
Passover ends next Tuesday. If he doesn't contact you back by Wednesday-Thursday, I would say you should go elsewhere.
My mortgage guy at HSBC informed me when he was going on vacation, so I knew if I called him, he wouldn't have my paper work, or have it accessible to fax/send, so I waited the week.
ETA: I told the REA I was putting the bid in this situation and she understood and waited.

call him 1 more time and if you don't hear back, I would drop him like a bad habit, JMO
ETA: if he is away on vacation, his voice mail should say as much. my parents don't take off for Passover, neither do I.

you can have them run a few times - and it wont count against your credit
you should shop around- don't only talk to one person- I would say at least 3
you are aren't happy- move on- places on going under and people are quitting the industry- it's been a rough start to the year

Re: Would you find this odd?
i think you can have your credit run as many times in a 2 week period - so after 3 weeks - I think it would drop the 3 points still - but only once no matter how many people you talk to.
As for the good faith estimate - Can you get that before you are in contract with a committment letteR?

Re: Would you find this odd?
contact his supervisor and find out why you're not hearing back from him. if he is indeed on vacation, perhaps the supervisor can help you or find you someone that can.
if that doesnt work, look elsewhere. you shouldnt be chasing your mortgage broker, he should be chasing you (if he knows how to do his job!)
