Would you find this annoying?

My neighbor constantly parks their cars in front of our house. We all have long driveways, can hold about 6 cars. They own 3 cars but decided to put up a fence across their driveway so that their driveway only holds 2 or 3 cars now. Instead of parking their extra car(s) in front of their house they ALWAYS park it in front of our house. And will leave it there for days without moving it. They have had one of their cars in front of our house for 3 weeks now and they have never moved it once. And they won't ever park in front of their house. It's not that we really need the spot in front of our house but it annoys me that 1) I have to look at this car all the time. 2) When we have people over they have to park and walk because these people constantly park in front of our house.

So would this annoy you? What do you think I should do about it? I don't want to start a fight or cause a problem but this just gets on my nerves. I just think it is rude.

It definitely would annoy me. As for what to do, I would suggest having a friendly conversation with them. Hopefully it won't get ugly.

Re: Would you find this annoying?

That would really annoy me and it does annoy me because I have a similar situation.

As far as what to do, that is really up to you. Technically they can park there because it is a public street. However, if you do say something to them are you ready to live with the consequences----it could go fine but it also could cause a problem and then you have to live next to them for however long.

I know for us it is not worth it, our neighbors are nice and do things for us in other ways. We just take the spot in front of the house when it is available whether we have room in our driveway or not. We do this not out of spite but because i get home first from my husband but I also have to be the first to leave in the morning so this just makes it easier without having to move cars around at night or in the morning.

Also since we have been parking in front of the house more consistantly, they seem to have parked in front of our house less and use their driveway and their space in front of there house more.

Good Luck!

It would annoy me enough to leave a car in front of their house for a few days.

We have 3 cars so I would opt for that.Chat Icon
