Would You Do This?

I work in a doctors office and one of the patients there told me he works for a fence company but does side work on weekends. He says he buys the fence from the company and installs them on his own. According to him I will save alot of $$

Here's the problem. I feel weird about having a patient know where I live. Like after the work is done is he going to come over if he has a sore throat Chat Icon

WWYD?

We're talking about saving ~$1-2K

Re: Would You Do This?

Hmm, it depends. Are you a doctor? If so, I'd say no. I just feel there is a line there that shouldn't be crossed. But if you're not a doctor and you feel that this patient is of sound mind and isn't going to come knocking on your door after, I guess I would.

Re: Would You Do This?

I'd probably do it....It's a pretty signifcant savings. Think of it the opposite way...if you met him somewhere else, he did your fence and then landed in your office, would it still be a concern?

To me, It depends on the patient. If they seem like someone who will not cross that line then go for it.

Re: Would You Do This?

if you are a doc/pa/nurse then i wouldn't want to get involved with a patient that i treat. but if you work on the office side of things then i would definitely do it.
