Jetblue changed our flights to arizona for christmas. The only flights they have (direct that is) are night flights. One is a red eye.

normally i'd say H E L L no, but some have told me how easy they are since they sleep the whole time.

they told me i can be refunded and i can book through US airways, but i love jetblue with the tv screens. Stupid i know but i am a bad flyer. Chat Icon

I think it really depends on your kids and if you think they will sleep the entire flight. You may want to get a seat for your 11 month old so he can lay down and sleep if you choose to do the night flight.

I agree.

I don't think I could do a night flight because DS only can last an hour sleeping in a plane seat or a car seat - then he just cries.

I have flown both airlines to Phoenix and JetBlue is better by far - USAir doesn't even have a movie!

Re: would you do a night flight with a 4 yr old & 11 month old?

I just took a jetblue red eye from Cali to NY on Monday night with my 2.5 year old. This is our third red eye - once when he was 4 months, 15 months and now at 2.5. I flew alone with him this time. The thing I like is that they turn the lights off and everyone is usually sleeping or resting - so not lots of chatting going on. I told DS it was the night night plane and everyone has to go night night.

I'm not sure about a 4 year old (ask me in 2 years...), but if s/he can fall asleep okay - the 11 month old should be relatively easy. You can always bring a baby carrier and rock the baby to sleep in the back or front of the plane once you're in the air. I was still nursing - so I just nursed DS to sleep when he was that young.

The thing that definitely sucks big time - you will be exhausted!! The flight is just not long enough for you to get a decent amount of sleep, if you can get any sleep at all - so as long as you have help on either end of the flight for a rest, you should be okay.

Hope that helps.
