would you counter offer

If you were a seller and you got an offer that was 5k below asking? Keep in mind that the asking price is 163 and the offer is 158- is it worth is to counter or would you just accept it?

I would accept it. It's not worth it for 5K IMO. That's a decent offer.

I would accept it. In the grand scheme of things, 5k is not very much (3.07%) below asking.

actually I countered at 160k and they accepted it yay!!!! fingers crossed that everything goes well!!!!

I'd accept it. Maybe that $5K less is the highest possible number the potential buyer can afford. I think an offer that is only $5K less than asking is pretty good.
