Would you buy a second train table for your second child?
DS#1 got a Imaginarium train table for Christmas exactly 2 years ago when he was 20 months old.
Now DS#2 is 20 months old and loves trains. Our old train table is destroyed, meaning we can no longer put all the pieces together because pieces are either broken and/or missing.
DS#2 loves trains and gets frustrated that the tracks don't connect. We do have a ton of extra tracks. DS#1 is totally over trains and has no interest whatsover in trains.
Would you buy a new train table for DS#2?
We are considering gluing lego plates to the original train table to make it a lego table.

Id buy the train sets but not the table. This is why I glued some of the parts together so they wouldn't go missing. She was CONSTANTLY Taking it apart, drove me crazy. Now it stays in its original set up (minus a few of those grey 'hold it up' pieces).
I have the same set.
Frankly Id love to sell it but I use the train table for our xmas tree! LOL I give it another year or two before I retire it for good.

We already have multiple other sets but not the bridges, tunnels, etc.
DH has glued those tracks down multiple times. DS#2 is like Godzilla.

Can you buy the full set without the table?
I don't think you can buy the Imaginarium train table track set without the table.

I was just at toys r us this morning and they had imaginarium box sets of tracks without the table or just buy the Thomas box sets or Melissa and Doug, brio, ikea, etc they are all interchangeable.

Yes. If the 1st one is destroyed, I would get one for DC#2. But, I would also encourage the DC to take care of it and not damage it. We've had ours over a year and it's still in perfect condition. And it's played with everyday. It's a great table that can def be utililzed in other ways past the train stage. The lego table idea is a good one.
ETA: Just read other posts and I'm confused - is the table ruined or are the tracks ruined?

The actual table is fine. Most of the actual tracks are also fine (although jumbled with about 5 other sets of tracks). The problem is that many of the special pieces are either missing or broken (ie peg is missing from the bridge, the bridge supporter is gone, roof of helicopter pad gone, train station broken, etc.)

Ohhhhhh, now it makes more sense. Definitely do not buy a new train table just bc the tracks are missing pieces. I would just buy new tracks, bridges, tunnels. There have been some good deals on the Thomas tracks/accessories lately. I actually found 2 great Thomas things at Buy Buy Baby - one was a Thomas Collapsing bridge for only 24.99 (19.99 with coupon) and it retails for $50 online.
I'm sure you can find deals on the tracks, etc that are compatible with the Imaginarium (Thomas, Brio, etc). We are actually getting rid of (putting in storage for now) all of the Imaginarium track pieces and accessories that came with our Imaginarium train table and replacing everything with new Thomas sets, tracks, bridges, etc.

I would just but a new one. Bru has that one going I think for .$120 right now. I paid $89 last xmas- it was one of my big scores, lol. Ours is also ruined. Ds1 likes to do things when I'm not looking like put powder all over it for snow or reenact a storm in sodor with juice, lol. I try not to get mad bc he's really just being imaginative. I'm sure we'll need a new one in another year if he's into it. For me it would be too annoying to try and get sets that all fit/groove right together on that table.
