Would You Be Upset?
Yesterday, I called my 1st sister and told her that I think I'm 6 weeks pregnant but need to confirm with my doctor first. She was happy and said she would keep the news to herself since I didn't want anyone to know yet.
Well lo and behold! A day later, my 2nd sister called me up and revealed that my mother had told her that I'm expecting!!! :P
So the news has now spread all over. I was hoping to reveal the news on Mother's Day in person!
My DH is now upset at me and the sister 'cus I revealed the news too soon.
Would you be upset at the 1st sister in this case?

I would be upset with my sister, but if you wanted to keep it a secret, you should have kept it to yourself till mother's day.
People don't think sometimes. Even though they thought it was happy news, not everyone can keep important secrets.

Sorry to lurk over here. Not too sure I belong but I like to read all of your preggo stories. :)
Honestly, I'd be upset but not so mad to make a big deal out of it. You're 6 weeks pregnant and you do not need any added stress. It wasn't very nice of her to say something against your wishes but it's all said and done at this point.
I would still go ahead and make your Mothers Day announcements even if your mom already knows.
Good Luck and I hope you a have a very happy and healthy 9 months!

I would be upset. Yes, they are super excited for you, but I would certainly want to be the one to tell people so close to me.

agreed. I would be disappointed but I know if my sister told me she was pregnant, it would be sooooo difficult to not tell my mom

ditto - i was upset when my MIL told her SIL that i was preggo before i said she could - both my parents and DH's parents knew that we were waiting until i was further along to tell extended family.

I would be upset too! This is your news to share, no matter how excited your sister is.
We were going to tell DH's family in person, actually we wanted to tell 2 of his sisters alone, since they have IF issues. DH was so excited that he wound up telling one of his BILs one day but made him promise not to tell anyone. Long story short, he told his wife (DH's sister) and in about a minute all 4 siblings knew and were annoyed that we didn't tell them ourselves 
At least nobody told his parents, though - we got to at least make that announcement ourselves.
