Would you be pi$$ed?

...if someone made you eat something and didn't tell you what it was?

My IL's are bringing over stew tonight and instead of beef, it is made with venison. They were not going to tell me and just have me eat it. I have had it before, so I am not totally grossed out, but just more ticked that they wouldn't have told me first.... Chat Icon

Re: Would you be pi$$ed?

I wasn't ******, but my MIL once tried to disguise lamb to get all of us to eat it. Not my favorite of meats and needless to say, no one really ended up eating it anyways!

Re: Would you be pi$$ed?

Yes i would be pi$$ed, what if you were allergic to it, Not saying you are 'BUT' what if you were and you had a reaction to it, How would they feel not saying anything to you about it? Why wouldn't they tell you about it? I would tell them that i dont mind if you do use a different meat but atleast tell me.

Exactly my point.

Re: Would you be pi$$ed?

As a rule, I really don't eat anything anyways that I don't know what it is.

I hate eggs for example, and I've had people try to disguise egg dishes to get over on me, and that's made me angry. I never ate them though because luckily I knew what it was.

Re: Would you be pi$$ed?

If my own family did it, I wouldn't be pizzed because we are jokey, sarcastic and mean. We once put whipped butter on top of ice-cream like it was whipped cream and tried to get BIL to eat it (He didn't. He could tell my our dumb faces that something was up.) But for some reason, the thought of DH's family doing that to me makes me mad. So yes, I think I'd be annoyed.

Food trickery can actually be dangerous! I was once tricked into eating a piece of fried fish (was told it was a chicken cutlet) come to find out I'm actually highly allergic to fish and had to be rushed to the hospital—thanks mom (she wasn't trying to kill me, we didn't know I was allergic before that).

Re: Would you be pi$$ed?

I would be since I am a vegetarian. A lot of people have tried to add things (such as chicken stock, etc.) to dishes. But EVEN if I did eat certain foods, you have the right to know what you are eating. As someone else said there could be a possible allergic reaction, and that is just not right.
