If Your mom recieved 2 million dollars in a wrongful death settlement and blew it all on junk... lotto tix..online pychics.sent money to George Bush..mail order chatchys..ect...and a never ending remodel of her home.Which she ended up having to sell because she was out of $$$$ and was about to loose it.
She is a widow,with no job and
she never listened to any advice i gave her, even after i set her up and had her money soundly invested so she could live off the interest and be set for life and still have some left to playwith .she managed to blow it all.Not to mention i am the only child in the family to ever get a masters and she refused to help me pay off my student loans,or help my family with a down payment on a home so we could get out of the apt. But always found enough money to give to my brother who can not hold a job to buy toy trains.
i know i need to let this go.But it makes me sick to my stomach .And because of this i have ended my relationship with her.

Well, just because you have money doesnt mean you know what to do with it - I have read many stories of people who were poor, won the lotterym, and became poor AGAIN because there was a reason they were poor in the first place....

Sounds like she has a problem, just like drugs or alcohol, and you alone cant help her....

Sorry - I wouldnt say I'd be mad, but I'd say I'd be concerned and upset for her....

I think I would feel exactly how you feel. I would be angry that she blew all of that money, and I would be resentful that she never helped you out, when she obviously had the means to- if she so wanted. I'm sorry you're left feeling so hurt. I think you may be better off with having no relationship with her.

You are both right.Most of the time I have a grasp on it the situation and just remind myself that yes she is a very sick woman,And she can not help herself.

But sometimes that old resentment and hurt just pops up.So i do have to really make an effort to keep it all in perspective.

I would be really hurt. I guess I would even say mad and that would turn into resentful. I would totally feel everything you are feeling now, but I don't know how healthy that is!

I would def be mad and frustrated. There are many people who just don't know how to manage money and do not listen to any advice you give them. But jeeeeez she could have been set for life. WOW

Some people just create and attract confusion and negative energy.They can turn the positive into a negative.But i really can not believe the bad choices she has made and is actaully now living on her social security checks.From such a high to such a low.I guess she thrives on stress.Oh well thanks for all the kind words You are all so sweet!
