Would this be weird - FB related
I posted something the other night, and tagged DH and a couple of friends in it. I posted to my "Friends". So, I realize that the friends of those people I tagged can also see it, fine. But somebody "liked" my post, who does not come up as a mutual friend of anybody I tagged.
So first, how did she see my post to "Like" it? She is in one of the Groups I'm in, but my regular posts should't post on that group page, should they?
Second, would it be weird if I sent her a message, something like...I see that you "Liked" my photo, just wondering where you saw it, since I don't think we have any mutual friends.

Not sure how she was able to view it but personally, i would be extremely weirded out if someone i didnt know contacted me on Facebook. I can understand your curiosity though....

I understand about not knowing the person and wanting to know. maybe make your profile more private. I'm not on Facebook any more but if you post a picture, I remember anyone can download your photos if you are friends. So anything you post someone can save them to their computer. I also just don't trust Facebook privacy settings.
I wouldn't contact them. If you don't want something on the internet for someone to see, then don't post it.

It's not anything I object to anybody seeing, it just makes me wonder how this person saw it.

I can see why you would be weirded out, but I wouldn't send a message. Also, if you send a message to someone you aren't friends with, it goes into this weird "other" mailbox. The person wouldn't even know the message unless he/she specifically went to that mailbox. Every few months, I remember that mailbox exists, and I always find at least a message or two from months before.
Any possibility this happened...
You said some of your friends were in it right? Maybe they reshared the picture in the same way that you did. That means the picture would then be available to all of their friends and their friend's friends. That could account for the random like.

If you have your page open, anyone can like your photo's. The only thing people who are not friends should see is your cover and profile picture.

The person who "liked" your photo may have their settings so you can't see their friends. My best friend's profile doesn't show any mutual friends with me but we have at least 30 mutual Facebook friends.

One of the friends you tagged in the photo has their profile settings to allow their friends to see and like or comment on photos they are tagged in. I once liked a friends photo not realizing that they were not the one who posted it.

A friend of a friend of a friend liked it. Once you post something anyone can like it or repost it OR someone has their friend list private. It's crazy, but really anyone can see your pics.

It has to do with your privacy setting. When I had DD I posted some newborn pics and tagged some of my coworkers. One of my coworkers was FB friends with a parent of a child that attends my school but not in my class. That parent shared the pic with the caption "look at ms.teacher's baby" I thought that was soo weird to do--and now all my ish is private!
