i think i see what you mean... because they would have to work harder to get the milk out it would rub against their gums more and might be soothing? i personally (and i am not a doctor) think that it can't hurt to give it a try but you do want to be careful that your DC doesn't teethe on the nipple and tear it - they can choke if a piece of the nipple comes off Chat Icon

Honestly- I think it might just be frustrating to your DS if he's hungry and not getting food fast enough. Plus, the nipple really only touches the top gum, the tongue is wrapped around the rest of it.

The only thing that worked to help with teething for us were the teething tablets and Tylenol or Motrin. Now that she's been cutting molars, we've been using the Motrin more because it's an anti inflammatory.

Think I will just stick with the fast nipple.
