Working Mommy guilt question
If your child just had surgery on Tuesday (Tonsilectomy and Adenoidectomy) and was discharged from the hospital on Weds, would you go into work tomorrow...totally trusting who will be home with him (your sister and your babysitter)
I have NO IDEA what to do...part of me is saying to go in (I am a teacher and we have vacation next week) and part of me is saying stay home

Re: Working Mommy guilt question
It's so awful feeling torn. If I was a teacher and had off all next week, I'd go in so you might get something done with the kids (if that's possible before a break!) and wouldn't need to have a sub the day before a week break.
Especially since it's your sister. And then you'll have a week off to nurse DC!

Re: Working Mommy guilt question
When my son had surgery I stayed home with him one day and went back the next. It's hard but you trust the person he's with and your only a phone call away.

Re: Working Mommy guilt question
It's hard. Just do what you think is best for you and DC. I struggled with this just this week. I work in a hospital and stayed home Wed and Thurs bc DS is sick. I struggled with staying home bc part of me felt pressured to go to work and the other part of me felt that as a mom, I should stay home with my sick baby (even though my mom and dad watch him). Don't worry about what you should do, just what you want to do. Whatever you decide is right.

Being that it's family watching I would say if you feel comfortable, by all means go in.
