Work Vent
Gotta love when you ask the boss about leaving early today and are told it probably won't happen.
Then she gets up at 12:45pm and leaves because she is going away for the weekend.

Haha I wish. It's a big company. In the past, we've left at 3pm on the Friday before the holiday.
Now with the boss gone, who knows if we'd even get the word!

It's 2:30 and I just got a project that I have to start today.
We NEVER get to leave early before a holiday, at least my normal leaving time is 4:30.

Ugh! That's serious BS. I just got the ok to leave 330/4. I still have work to keep my busy but I worked till 1030 last night so I will be gone. I hope you get the word.

No early closure in my office. The office manager always takes off the day before a holiday so he doesn't have to hear people ask about early dismissal.

My boss was still there when I left yesterday.
We are able to leave at 3 the day before a holiday as long as we are done treating patients.
It's a tough role being the one in charge too though. Often you get blamed for stuff that is beyond your control.
Having a boss who is fair and tries to advocate for their employees, and is honest when things can't be done is way more important IMO.

Totally agree but very rare to find ones that are understanding. You would think they would be since that would motivate ppl to be loyal and perform better.
