wool pottery barn rugs
are the worse! My mom bought DH and I a beautiful Pottery Barn wool rug... what young couple wouldn't want that for their new house. Well, we got it in May and thing will NOT stop shedding. It's sooooo gross, way worse than cats shedding. The shedding is all over my house even though I vacuum all the time. The shedding looks like cat hair, huge clumps of cat hair. It gets in the blinds, in other rooms, on our clothes, behind furniture and appliances, etc making it hard to get it all. Because of this, we got bugs!!! Yes, bugs from carpet shedding. We got carpet beetles that are attracted to these clumps. Now they are on our clothes and bed it's so so nasty. I am washing everything we own, vacuuming even more that normal (which is A LOT) I want these things gone, I wish we never got this rug

I had heard that most of PB rugs shed but it usually lessens and then stops within a few months. How terrible about the bugs! Can you return the rug to PB?

I have heard that PB has the worst shedding issues with their rugs.
From all people I know who have them (either PB or PBK), all sheds and they don't stop either even years later.

oh no really!
i am in love in a rug from pottery barn but i can't live with a shedding rug, especially on dark floors...
which rug did you get? will PB take it back?

I bought a rug for DS from pottery barn- still sheds after 15 months of having it. He can't play in his room because the he comes out looking like a little sheep. I hate that rug!

I'm so glad that you posted this. Thank you. I mean I'm sorry that you are unhappy with it since it is such an expensive purchase.
I've been looking for a PB rug.
I think I'm going to look elsewhere.
I do have 3 chenille PB rugs at home right now and those are great. I did have a looped wool rug that didnt shead so, you must be refering to the hand tufted pile which is what I wanted

I have two pottery barn rugs in my bedroom..i can't stand them..they shed and also have a weird burning rubber smell...i should have returned them and never did..now i am stuck with them..
The carpet beetles are just attracted to the wool in the rug..this is the season when they come out..watch your wool clothes..they ate through one of my DH's suits!! I bought cedar balls for my closet for the beetles..not sure if they will work.

gross.. how do I get rid of these things. I just washed everything that we owned, well most things, it's impossible to wash everything. This really stinks

See, it depends on the rug. I've returned ones that shed but I've had ones that dont do it for long too. I've also had great success with their chenille ones. I have 3 of them and they're great.

i've had 2 and they've never stopped shedding! i don't have pets but after i vacuum the rug you would think i had a house full like a crazy cat lady or something!
