woodbury commons
Is it worth the drive? I am going to an outlet sometime this week or next and I am deciding between the there and Tanger. I am in Massapequa so I think they are similar drive times.

I grew up near there and still have family there. It's a zoo right now and may not be worth it. I knew someone who went a couple weeks ago and said there were like hour long waits to pay in all the good stores.

Re: woodbury commons
TOTALLY worth it - it isn't really all that far - just about an hour and 15 minutes (from Northport)... and it is very direct (the Throgs Neck to the GWB) and then about 30 minutes later - you're there!
The outlets there put Riverhead to SHAME!
They have very high-end names - if you are into shopping - it's Heaven!

yeah - that is the one thing - i would definitely wait until after christmas if you are looking to shop there for yourself but if you are looking for christmas gifts then prepare for lines! it might be best to TRY, if you can, to go on an "off day" like a monday or a tuesday. HTH!
ETA- just read that it is between tanger and there - so, if you are going either way and you're in Massapequa i would definitely go to woodbury.

Good point. Is it like that the few days after Christmas?

Re: woodbury commons
If you are not going to go Christmas shopping, I'd just wait until mid-January or so to go.
It's very touristy this time of year. They actually bus people in from Manhattan.
I used to live in the city and take the bus home to see my parents. The first stop was always the one that brought everyone to Woodbury Commons. It sucked big time. Actually it was worse COMING home because everyone had a million bags they refused to put under the bus, but I digress ;).
I was at Tanger once and it's a lot smaller there then WC from what I remember.
