woke up early in hysterics

I just woke up crying realizing that i dont remember feeling the baby throughout my sleep and then when i woke up i still didnt feel her....i had a literal emotional breakdown for a second there until i laid down and she finally started to move....omg i lost it what the heck! hormones?

anyone else go a lil loopy when they noticed decreased movement? and is it normal to have this decreased movement at 36wks? and how many movements are u technically suppossed to feel if u were to count them? tia

Re: woke up early in hysterics

I think it's normal to notice less movement towards the end since there isn't as much room. I think the guideline is 10 movements per hour and if you can't feel anything then to lay on your left side and drink some OJ.

I rarely feel ten movements per hour. My doctor says if I don't feel the baby the entire day to call her. I never feel him when I sleep either unless I piss him off (i.e. go on my stomach).

Aww Jen! I am so glad that you felt her Chat Icon so you could relax a bit!! Just like the other ladies have said, drink OJ or ice cold water and lay on your side and you should feel her if it happens again. I know the 10 movements is supposed to hold true for ladies about 7-8 months but when you get to 9 months, like you, there is hardly any room. Write down when you do feel her moving, even a little. And of course, call your doc if you get really worried!! It's almost time mama!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I know how you feel, I always worry too when I don't feel the baby for a little while. Especially in the morning because for me it's always a given that within minutes of me waking up the baby is going bananas so if I don't feel anything I too panic. I'm sure she's fine though, they say it's normal to feel decreased movement now. They have so little space to move around in. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: woke up early in hysterics

I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow and I am experiencing the same exact thing! Every morning I am almost panicing until I feel her. There has definitely been much less movement. It worries me but dr assures everything is fine.
