My first appointment was a little disappointing for a few reasons. Since I really had no idea when my LMP, I was hoping/thinking I was 6-7 weeks (maybe even more) but they didn't see anything on the sono, so went transvaginal and ended up able to see the gest sac and it measured at 5w1d.
Now I'm back to struggling whether or not we tell my mom yet. But I'll still be very upset if anyone else figures it out and she isn't the first to know.
My appt was with another doctor in the practice and I assumed it was just for this visit but I found out my guy who I've been seeing for 16 years and I travel 45 mins for no longer delivers  And I was a little put off by the fact that this doc didn't even know how old I was (I'll be over 40 when I deliver and almost assumed it would have been highlighted).
I'll probably change to someone closer (since DH was never happy about how far away my doc was) but  who needs it??
Sorry to sound like I'm complaining. It was just a little upsetting.

oh - that BITES that you have been with him so long and he isn't delivering anymore!!! That must've been a HUGE letdown - i'm so sorry...
I can bump the OB list for you on TTC if you like - it lists all the docs the girls on there have and any they DO NOT recommend for whatever reason.
The age highlight thing though - that wouldn't bother me - if you've been going to the same guy forever, he knew your age....and probably thought nothing of highlighting it - ya know???

Except I didn't see him, I saw another guy and I had said something about "since I'm over 40" and he looked at me crazy and said he thought I was 28-30!! It just made me think he didn't even look at my file.

Right - i know you didn't see him...my point in saying that was simply that your old doc didn't highlight it...nothing major..
That is ODD that the new dude didn't so much as LOOK at your file before walking in....

Yeah, that's sorta what I meant. He was perfectly nice too and I liked him but when I left yesterday, I was still under the impression I would be seeing my guy for my next appt until I looked at the card they gave me. So I was kinda ****** the office didn't bother to tell me he was no longer delivering and I only found out when I called this morning to ask!!
