Wisdom tooth pain one week later but not dry socket?
Just wondering if anyone had this happen.
I went for an emergency appointment yesterday, the extraction was a week ago but the pain was pretty intense the past 2 days.
I'm on antibiotic and taking ibuprofen but wondering why its hurting so badly. No fever or other signs of infection. It was partially impacted and he had to drill, but I still feel like I should feel better..

I think its pretty normal. I had a tooth extracted early February. I want to say it took maybe 2 weeks before I felt completely better and didn't have to constantly take advil.

Wisdom tooth pain one week later but not dry socket?
Pretty normal- they would be able to see dry socket I believe? I had dry socket in all 4 :-/. I will say the pain unfortunately lasts about 2 weeks- however I have known a few people to feel pretty good within a few days! Hang in there!!

My mother had bad pain like this. She went for a second opinion and they found part of a nerve still in there, which was causing the pain. :( I hope you feel better soon!

This is me now. I'm literally sitting in the office waiting to be seen. I had my top right pulled last Monday and my face still hurts and throbs randomly. I don't think it's dry socket, but my god it's killing me. I'm so done with this! I still need my other 3 out but need an oral surgeon for that. I'm miserable.

In all 4?? Omg you poor thing. That sounds awful. My mom had it in one and said it was the worst pain she ever felt, ugh

I had the top wisdom pulled on the left and the bottom they did an apercosomething, basically cut the gum that was covering my lower tooth. I was never given an antibiotic so apparently I have a raging infection in both the top and bottom and that is why I'm in as much pain as I'm in. They cleaned it out with a syringe and then he put a topical gel on it to soothe it and then before I even left made me take 4 pills of an antibiotic. I got two scripts, a narcotic to take over the next 2 days at night to help sleep and the antiobitoc. I already feel a little better. He also said my stiches came out at some point and I have bone exposed on the top, he thinks that will heal on its own. I've been miserable for a month between the wisdom tooth pain before it came out and then after so I finally feel like I have a little relief. Now here's to hoping its just the infection and not the rest of my wisdom teeth. Hope you are feeling better soon!! Teeth pain sucks!

It took about two to three weeks for the pain to subside from mine. The oral surgeon broke the tooth while extracting it. Then he had to remove shattered fragments. It was not fun.
