Wine recommendation

Danielle and I are planning on giving the home owners a bottle of wine at our closing on saturday, and I was wondering if anyone had a good recommendation for a bottle of wine? I am not sure if we should give a bottle of red or a bottle of white though, and I am not sure what kind of wine we should give them. This is the first time we will be meeting them.
thanks,
Scott

Re: Wine recommendation

I would probably give champagne over wine in that scenario.

Re: Wine recommendation

I don't know - I am not sure if everyone likes champagne, but then again, not everyone likes wine. Going my my own personal preference, I would say go with the wine. But lets see what everyone else says Chat Icon

Re: Wine recommendation

all great suggestions...

but imo, i wouldn't give the sellers anything. you're the one buying the house. i've never heard of the buyers giving the sellers a gift at closing? Chat Icon i always thought it was the other way around...or rather you get a 'housewarming' gift from your realtor.

we did however bring the homeowner some sugar free cookies (b/c he was diabetic) at the final walk thru. we had met him several times prior to closing. i just think it would be awkward to give a bottle of wine/champagne in your case being that you've never met them before.

We are buying the seller a gift because the transaction we had has been great. They left us the furniture we wanted and went above and beyond with repairing the things that needed to be repaired in the house. They even built a banister for the staircase because they knew that we wanted one....
