Windsurfing?
Has anyone here ever done it or tried it?
I miss surfing and since we live on a lake now wanted to try this. Is navigating the sail very difficult? Since my heart surgery 2 yrs ago, my upper body strength is seriously lacking. even though I lift weights, the weight limit I can lift is 45-50 lbs. My concern is the sail when wet would be very difficult for me to steer and feel like it weighed 1000 lbs.
I am assuming a lot here so any feedback would be great! TIA!

Re: Windsurfing?
It's tough. When DH and I met, this was his sport. He was addicted to it. Part of the toughness was the weight of the sail combined with balancing on the board and THEN catching wind. Since I was still a beginner, I had to learn how to maneuver the sail from a standing on the board position. As people progress, they can do beach starts which are easier.
It wasn't a sport for me, I'll be honest, but I'm glad I gave it many tries. I also LOVE the beach but have a fear of just hanging out in open water.

Re: Windsurfing?
I don't have much upper body strength so it was a little difficult for me. Once I got it up and everything though it was so much fun!

Re: Windsurfing?
It's very difficult...at least for me it was. Though I think with enough practice you would eventually get the hang of it!
