Window treatments toppers/valances
Are they a must have? Do they complete the look or can it still look finished w/o a topper?
Sorry for all the curtain questions but this is the part I am up to right now in my house and I need help!

It's all about taste really. Right now I just have the curtains on either side of the windows with no scarf. I still like it either way.

Yes Jenn it did help. I had the impression that you HAD to have toppers. It looks equally nice w/o them. I like both looks and it great to know I can switch it up!
