Will this wagon work at the beach?
DS has this Step2 wagon. I'm hoping this will work on top of the sand at the beach.
Will the plastic wheels of our wagon work on the beach?

Re: Will this wagon work at the beach?
I used this at the beack over memorial day weekend and it did not work very well. we did have it loaded up with a cooler and beach stuff and we let the kids walk. Very hard to pull on the sand.

Are we better off leaving it at home then? Or is it manageable to pull in the sand?
DH thinks I buy too many unnecessary items. He doesn't want me to buy one of those beach push carts. I want to put beach towels, umbrella, sand toys, etc...nothing too heavy.

It may work better with the light stuff..such as the sand toys and towels.
I mean it did roll across the sand with all that in it so I think it will be ok.
How about a jogging stroller with inflatable wheels?if you have one of course....maybe you can load the seat part up and underneath?

We have the city mini. I don't think it is a real jogging stroller though. It didn't work at the beach yesterday.
I'm determined to use this wagon! It takes up so much room and we never use it. If it doesn't work at the beach, we'll probably get rid of it.

IMO you need something with really big wheels. I've used a wagon like this and I felt like I was pulling the world....not good for sand.

I don't think it is going to work. We got the radio flyer wagon with all terrain wheels for the beach.
