Re: Wierd problem

Yes. I have a ruptured eardrum, that is, if we are talking about the same thing. Mine is not painful, except when I fly.

Re: Wierd problem

It was so stupid I am embarrassed to even tell you. But here I go.

I tried to supress a sneeze during one of my college entrance exams. I already have problems with my ears b/c I bartended for so long that if I worked for more than 3 days in a row, I would get severe tinnitus. When I sneezed, I felt that "I can hear the ocean" feeling, but I did not pay attention to it b/c I just figured it was bad tinnitus. I did not discover until I flew that February break (so like, 6 mos later) that it was a problem. I had such incredile pressure when my ear popped. Now I just wear an ear plug in that one ear when I fly.
My dr. has never recommended anything for it.

Re: Wierd problem

I have it happen - I have a tear in my ear drum and there is scar tissue - sometimes it bothers me a lot...but it doesnt hurt - it kind of sounds like one ear is clogged or about to pop.

You could see an Ear Nose and Throat doctor

OK it sounds like i might have it. dont be embarrassed about your story bc the only thing i can think of that i might have done is a day when i accidentally shoved a Qtip in too far (umm what am i 4yrs old?!?) Chat Icon
i'm going to the doctor. i just hope he can do something so that it's not so annoying everytime i eat! thanks for your help!

Re: Wierd problem

ooh, that is the only OTHER time it hurts, besides flying (how could I forget). If I go in a little too deep with the q-tip.

I don't know other people's experiences, but now I never hear the noise, and the only time I notice it is when I have the feeling like my ear has to pop.

I would definitely go to your Dr. & see what she/he says.
