Why would you do that?????
OK, so I am one of those ladies who does not mind if people touch my tummy... well at least people I know. I might not feel the same if a perfect stranger walked up to me and touched without asking.
BUT, at my shower yesterday, my DH's aunt not only touched my stomach (did not mind), but she went to lift up my shirt to look at my tummy!!!!! (totally minded this!)
I will lift my shirt up all day long for my DH, but for his aunt to do it... I was completely dumbfounded!!!!
I guess we will never understand some people!!!

I too am one of those people that does not mind people touching my belly. But to lift your shirt...WOOH - that is just a different story - some nerve!! That would totally aggravate me!

I would have been soooo peeved, and probably would have slapped her hand away out of general reaction. Hello, it's YOUR body! I agree with previosu poster, you should have lifted her shirt!!

I am all for the showing off My Tummy When I was Pregant with my 1st child but now that I am pregnant a second time and it looks as if a lion got a hold of me I only show My hubby and very close family (my daughter too) My belly. I am all for you can touch My Tummy If you ask me Don't Just go Rubbing all over me. As for strangers I do not let any children I don ot know touch Me because they Poke Hard. Women ttc I let rub My tummy for baby Luck. But I agree With you 100% she should have Asked you before she decided she wanted to sneek a peek. Well Good Luck to you

Uhm...I'm actually guilty of this... Well I don't do it to other people but when I talk about my belly I sometimes lift up my shirt and show it off...Im sorry...its cute...
But I understand why you would feel uncomfortable...

that would have been funny. yeah i would have people. a freind of mine did it to me and i was so annoyed its not like its our body part PLUS they would never do it if we werent preg so why do it now

I am one of those people that mind if you touch the belly without asking, and I can honestly say if someone lifted my shirt I would either 1. smack their hand, 2. go completely ballistic or 3. both.

I am always lifting up my shirt to show DH or my mom. But for people who are not as close to me, I'm a bit more shy!
I was just so amazed that she was trying to lift my shirt that I didn't even have enough time to react the way I wanted to!!!
