They may close or close early. They have for every other death of a president. I am thinking Wed.

Have they picked a definite day for the funeral? if it is wednesday i think we will get the full day. Tuesday they were leaning towards the half day because they didnt want a four day break. Please pray the bond market closes as well!

It will most likely be closed Wed or Thurs next week but I don't think they made an annoucement yet about when it will be closed in observance to Pres. Ford's passing.

I just checked the NYSE web site and there is no announcement yet. They just mention a moment of silence.

It might be Tuesday (DH works on the floor) but the NYSE never closes four days in a row....so they might get screwed....

Ditto. If the funeral is Wednesday, it will be closed. If it's on Tuesday, no.

No, I don't think everything was closed. The stock exchange closes out of respect and observance to presidents' deaths. I don't even think banks close.

I used to work in Finance so when Reagan died my office was closed. Now I am thinking this will turn into a day where everyone goes shopping.

Regardless of whether it's open or not, I have to work....my wonderful office likes to be open on market holidays. The worst part, DH will have off though!
