why is everything so expensive??
We registered at BRU and everything is so expensive.....I dont think my family is gonna spend that much money on the things I want (they are not rich)
I feel bad even putting this stuff on there
and I went for all Graco so its not like I went for really pricey things but $140 for a stroller and $100 for an infant car seat seems alot to me

Honestly that is not expensive for those items. Since my stroller has lasted almost 3 years I feel like the $120 I paid for it is fair. And a car seat..well that protects Molly so that was okay by me...other things I find expensive like the fact that Molly's jeans can cost more than my own.
You may have to purchase some items yourself or multiple people may chip in for larger items.

I guess I am feeling bad because the last shower we were at my 2 Aunts were complaining and they only spent $30 on a gift
they didnt want to be at the shower and they were mad that they wasted their Sunday and their money.
IT WAS THEIR OWN BROTHER'S GF SHOWER
THE STUFF WAS FOR THEIR NEPHEW

I registered for the gear at Target. I got all Graco's family tree line and absolutely love it. The cost was less than the fabrics they have at BRU.
Don't count target out. Most of my stuff came from there.

BRU is expensive, period. You can get the same stuff (or very similar) at Target, Wal-Mart, etc. Im mad that I stayed registered at BRU

That just goes to show that they're going to bitchh about it no matter what you do. So I say, find what you like and register for it. Don't worry about other people. If they don't want to buy it they won't.

I agree. If you think how long you will use a stroller or the importance of a good car seat it's not all that much money. You could get a used stroller off craiglist and other baby gear other than a car seat.

Try not to feel bad. It's not like you went out and recklessly registered for all top of the line items or for frivolous stuff. Maybe several family members can pitch in to buy you the stuff you need. Also, it's not mandatory that they shop off of the registry. Try not to worry too much about this. Registering and having your shower should be happy times for you -- not stressful.

I didnt like any of them at BRU and the one we could tolerate was still $220
so we registered for a stroller and a car seat that match (its the same thing)
so now someone doesnt have to shell out all that on one gift
