Why I should have stayed in bed - An essay

My dear dear digestive system. I know you are upset by all of the hormones coursing through this shared body of ours. However, your upgrade this morning from nausea to projectile vomiting was unfair. I had to brush my teeth again, you robbed me of the little energy I had. Yes, I know we had just rolled out of bed, but the hormones are getting to me too.

It was a lovely drive into the office at 9:15AM. There was hardly any traffic which helped me calm down from the projectile vomiting issue. I was feeling quite perky and lovely, enjoying the glow of pending motherhood.

Ahhhh. But then you came into my life. You evil evil parking garage. You with your winding ramps that encouraged the nausea. You with your parking spots all filled. You with your slippery floors. Yes, I should have known about you. I should have known that your slippery floor would cause my heel to fly out from beneath me. I should have known that you would cause me to fall onto the floor, hands skinned by the rough asphault and knees bruised. My laptop and purse were strewn across your dirty slippery surface. Any glow I felt was robbed by your filthy behavior.

All of this led me to believe that I should have stayed in bed. I should have enjoyed the bed with my husband and refused to leave the comfort of my down cover. Tomorrow, I will battle you again. I swear it. Except THIS time my clever enemies, the disaster WILL BE YOURS.

It was sticking up in the air for all to see. My hands and knees took the brunt of the fall. Chat Icon

Chat Icon That's terrible- and I feel so bad that you have the m/s.
If it helps, I physically can not get out of bed any more. The back pain is just excrusiating.
And I wake up about 2.5 hours early.

I should excercise- it's my own fault.
Maybe I will start pre natal yoga- I just need to find a place near me.
Oh wait- you know what- I cleaned the ish out of my house yesterday. Like- scrubbed the fridge, stove, shower, etc.
I blame housework.

Maybe I can get a Dr.s note for my husband.

ETA: Vomitting has become a new ritual for me. The dog sits by me as to say "I wish I can hold your hair, but alas I can not. I will sit here and watch you in wonder"

Damn! Sorry to hear of your disastrous morning and your brush with death in the parking garage. Projectile vomit = less than fun. Chat Icon
