Why don't ppl get it???
I know--- I sound terrible for even writing this, but I'm going to say it anyway b/c you girls understand. I have only told my closest of friends about the struggles that we're going thru... one of which just left me a voicemail to call them back.
I then went onto FB to find out that they were calling me to tell me that their DW is expecting again (the one who told me last time that once their DC was born I should come up so he could pee on me b/c clearly that would fix my IF problems!!!), the day after his DC's 1st birthday.  I'm happy for them of course, but seriously--- you know we're struggling and that we were trying LONG before you got PG w/ #1... and you know that in less than 2 weeks it would've been my EDD if our first IVF cycle took.
Do you really feel it necessary to call me if you were going to announce it online anyway? I guess I should feel happy that they chose to call me but I'm having a pity party instead.  I don't even feel like picking up the phone when he calls back. I HATE that I feel like this and I am so mad at myself... why can't I just be fully happy for people without the pity party for me??? Sorry, I just needed to vent.

Because its like a blow to the gut! At least for me. Better to be real about your feelings and expressing them helps to deal with it. don't beat yourself up over feeling like this, we all understand. I used to pretend it didn't bother me and then recently when my friend got pg again before I could even do it once, that just send me off the roof. Or maybe it didn't bother me but that really did, who knows.

It's a natural reaction that u r having....which people who r not going through IF would just never get. I'm sorry u r having a bad day! You're not alone in your feelings!

I'm so sorry sweetie People just don't get it. you know I know how and what you're feeling. It doesn't make us feel good, but we need to feel that way, at least for a little while. You are happy for them, but you are still entitled to your pity party b/c it does stink right now - big time. You'll talk to him when you're ready, give yourself time. I'm here if you need to talk.

Thanks guys. I feel awful even feeling like this. Most of the time I can handle it fine, b/c it's not like their being pg will mean I can't be, KWIM? But today just wasn't a good day in that dept.

Completely natural reaction, Shannon. Don't feel guilty. You are happy for them, you're just sad for you. Those emotions are going to go hand in hand for you right now until its your time. And it will be soon, I promise

I completely agree with this! Everytime I hear a pregnancy announcement, I really am happy for the couple, but cannot help but feel sad and ask why is it not my turn!
