Why don't people think before they speak?
I finally spoke to my MIL for the first time today since we found out that our IUI cancelled last Thurs. I just haven't felt up to talking to anyone but especially DHs parents for some reason... sometimes you just need some sympathy, KWIM? Anyway, she goes on to tell me that she's spoken w/ DHs aunt about IVf AND her cleaning lady--- who of course her daughter has gone thru IVF twice also and has loads of info for us I'm not trying to be mean, really I'm not- but do you really feel the need to tell ME how you're telling everyone and their mother that I'm having problems getting PG? I'm so annoyed about this... THEN she goes on to tell me about a dr she heard about on the radio and saw in the paper and thy NYS grant, so I cut her off and told her I've been doing my own research and found out about all of this (but didn't let her know that we may be eligible b/c I don't want to get anyones hopes up in case we're not). Then she gave me her ever famous 'well, at least you're still young' comment- that drives me up the wall!! I may be young in your eyes, but we've been trying to start our family for 4 years--- doesn't that count for anything????!?!?!? ARRGGGHHHH!!!! There goes my relaxing from my massage... I was in heaven for an hour earlier today---- I may need to go back tomorrow.

OK, I got one for you. My MIL made me call her hairdresser who had done IVF 3 times and had a DD to show for it. And is doing it again right now.
Like a good DIL I called her. Actually she was really nice. We had a great conversation about IVF and all our problems.
I'm sure your MIL thought she was helping. Like mine. It's a bit foreign to them.
Try not to get too mad. People tend to talk to much. Nothing you can do about it, don't waste your massage on this.

LOL. This is the kicker--- my MIL suffered from IF and never had biological children. My DH and his brother and sister are all adopted. You'd think she'd know better... because she's been in my boat.

Its been a long time for her - she is much removed from it now. Its a lot different when you're in the thick of it like we are.
I hate that young comment, I get it all the time.
