Why do you TELL me these things?
I want to strangle people sometimes when they mention things like:
"It's snowing outside and my husband forgot to let the dog in. Ha ha oh well, I guess the trampoline will have to do as shelter."
or
"You should see how the kids attack him and he doesn't move a muscle. He just lays there and takes a beating. He's so good."
or
"My husband hit him too hard the other day and the dog wouldn't go near him for like the rest of the day."
While every bone in my body wants to lay into these people, I know that will only serve to make them defensive. I try to voice my displeasure so it has a constructive affect.
But in my mind, I'm leaving them outside naken in the freezing cold and beating them with a stick. 
What kind of stupid things have you heard people say and how do you react?

That is disgusting What is wrong with people? Not that the rest aren't bad either but this one bothered me the most.

My friend tells me she can't stand her yorkie, can't stand that he "dances" when she is home. I told her he wants attention. She isn't "mean" to him but I would like to see him with someone who will spend more time with him.

OMG I commend you for not beating the snot out of them.
I worked with a girl who had a golden for 3 days. She was like, "The dog is broken...we can't train her.....can you find a home for her?"

 I do not have ANY self control.....I tell people they don't deserve the love an animal gives if they find ANY of this acceptable. I WILL STAND UP FOR ANIMALS because like childre, they can not stand up for themselves in the right way

How can u say something like that?
I guess she doesnt understand because she's never had a pet b4, but geesh.

They are people I see frequently enough. It amazes me how they turn defensive immediately and turn a blind eye to the possibility that they are a bad pet owner. It's always MY problem. I'm being too sensitive, I should understand they are animals and not people.
I get into heated discussions frequently enough that it makes me despise people.
So then I come here for some sanity and to be among people who care for animals instead of considering them disposable posessions.

I would file an anonymous complaint against the person "who hit his dog too hard". Let the authorities investigate, the poor animal needs a voice to speak up on his behalf.
Something that I hear all the time is....."I had to throw the cat out...she kept getting pregnant".
