Why do party places not allow homemade cakes?
My contract says store or bakery made only. Is it for allergies or something? Not that I would bake a huge cake lol but DH was asking and I didn't know the reasoning.

Why do party places not allow homemade cakes?
My guess would be that it has something to do with Department of Health supervision. They don't want anyone getting sick and suing them.

Does the contract allow you to bring in a cake but it has to be commercially made? If that is the case, I would think it has to do with health code regulations

maybe allergies, maybe there some legally for food poisoning, and/or if its cooked in an approved environment; maybe they would be responsible if someone does get sick.
I wouldn't say money if they are saying you can bring your own as long as its a store bought/bakery one since that means the place isn't making any money off of you

It is because they want some one who is insured.... If someone gets sick or has an allergic reaction in their place of business... Theycan be sued...
That happened to my husband when we had my 49th at 300 which is now bowlmar...
We wanted to java person who does fantastic cakes do it but we could not so we had it done elsewhere...
I totally understand the reasoning....
Just find someone who is...w eased TASTE in Woodbury she is fabulous.

yes, it's because of the health codes and the liability if someone gets sick.
i worked at a preschool, a long time ago, and that's why we couldn't allow parents to bake birthday cakes to celebrate on our property.

My nursery school won't allow homemade bc they need to be able to read a label due to nut allergies.
