Why aren't we in contract?

Our offer was accepted on a house on May 9th, over two weeks ago. When we signed the sales agreement two days later, The contract date was May 25th, which was yesterday. However, our lawyer has not even received the contract from their lawyer! It stinks b/c I can't lock in a rate (and they are rapidly increasing) and I don't know if they are being sketchy for whatever reason. I feel like my life is in limbo! How long between your offers being accepted and contract? Do you think that my situation is unusually long?

wow thats a long time... has your REA spoken to theirs? I might think about retracting your offer, your attorney shouldn't be waiting almost three weeks now to get the contract. Did you do an inspection?

Inspection was done last Thursday. I am getting sooooo mad!!!

it took us about a month between having our offer accepted and signing our contract...we signed last week! the couple we are buying from are going through a divorce so they each have an attorney so that is why i think it took so long, but definitely call your lawyer or rea and be annoying to find out what's going on

I would have your REA call up their REA and tell them that if your attorney doesn't have the contracts by THIS date then you are pulling out.

Have the lawyers had any contact at all?
