Why am I crampy all the time?
I didn't post this, but last week I was in L&D again for cramping, and it turned out to be nothing. This was the second time this has happened. It actually has happened 3 times, but the first time the doctor's office was open, so I went there instead. Now yesterday it started again. It feels exactly the same as it has - a constant crampiness like I have to do #2, and yesterday I felt relief after going. (sorry for TMI). I haven't called the dr. yet, I feel like the boy who cried wolf. I guess if it doesn't go away by tomorrow I will call? What would you do?
ETA: I had an FFN last week, it came back negative. My cervix was nice and long - over 4cm, hard and closed. Babies fluid was great. I'm 27 1/2 weeks now.

Re: Why am I crampy all the time?
I've been somewhat crampy on and off lately, I've been trying to hold out to call the doc, I'm seeing them next week, so I'm hoping it will be nothing...

Re: Why am I crampy all the time?
I have learned that I have to drink LOTS and LOTS of water to relieve any cramping or contractions that I may be having.
I would drink lots of water and if you still don't feel better, call your doctor. It's better to be safe.

Re: Why am I crampy all the time?
I get that type of cramping all the time as well, some times its so bad I get the chills and goose bumps. I feel like I have to go #2 BAD....but nothing.
I've spoken to my midwife about it and she says its still normal stretching etc and can also be some cramping of the intestines especially if you are constipated.
What did they tell you when you went to L&D?

They keep saying I have an "irratable" uterus, but I think thats just a catch-all. I really wasn't having any real contractions on the monitor. They gave me fluid both times and that made me feel better. I have been trying to drink water like crazy, but maybe I'm still not getting enough.

Usually the best way to calm an irritable uterus is lots and lots of water....... You should probably be drinking a Minimum of 2.5 liters. I usually drink 3-4 liters a day!!!
ALso, try adding in some gatorade for the electrolytes........
I would really try and up your water intake for a few days and see if it helps any. I think it probably will, especially if the IV fluids helped in the HOspital!

Thanks so much for the advice. Maybe I'll try adding in some gatorade and really getting serious about the water.

No problem... I think I'm going to take my own advice and go out today and buy a few more bottles.

This makes me think you may be having gas pains also...It could be dehydration or it could be you need to go....DOes having a bm always help or have you not noticed a pattern?

Yes, I would have to agree that it is also gas combined with some constipation. A bm usually helps but only for a short time. Ugh. I always had stomach issues (IBS) but it went away for at around 10 weeks. I think the weight of the babies and the lack of room for my intestines is aggravating it.
I really appreciate all the advice and insight, everyone, you are making me feel better!
