why?

why would it be so much easier for other if they knew what my baby's name is going to be???

Just got off the phone with MIL...I told her all about the sono and how big he's measuring...of course she thinks its all wonderful (not seeing a down side to a 10lb baby) but yes its all wonderful

...then she asks if he has a name yet...
umm no....which yes is bothering me that dh and I have not 100% settled on a name but at this point even if we had Im still not telling her until he is born...anyway
she huffs and tells me it would be so much easier if he had a name and proceeds to tell me that her girlfriends and her all did the same thing...first born son named after thier dh and 2nd born son after their father

...I managed to have to get off the phone before the conversation could go any further

I just dont understand why it would make everyone elses life easier if my unborn son had a name yet

She had her time to have babies and name them. This is your time. She'll find out eventually, what's the rush? You won't be pregnant forever.

I had a few friends who waited. I didn't find it strange or annoying that they kept it a secret. They didn't want to hear anyone else's opinion about the name they chose and I completely understand.

Funny, I think the people who are bothered by not knowing are the ones who would let you know what they really think about your choice.
