Who's your internet provider?
Right now I have Cablevision but Fios is coming any time soon. So I was wondering if anyone has Fios and at the same time what internet provider do you all have?
Chris here a California transplant now living in Holbrook NY

We just got Fios last week. Awesome!!!! Verizon is the internet provider. No need to go through a middle-man. We used to have Earthlink DSL, which was actually Verizon DSL. This way, if you just deal with Verizon, if there is a connection problem, they can address the physical connection, as well as the internet connection servers and software.

I have Optimum Online from Cablevision. I really don't like Cablevsion, but I have no complaints on my internet portion of it. I rarely have any issues and when I do, it is resolved quickly.

Opt Online. I have heard some horror stories about fios out in eastern long island. It's good out in western long island. My best friends brother is a cablevision tech and he has to always go up and fix the fios install issues.

we have cablevision/optimum online, we're hoping fios/verizon comes to our neighborhood soon.
my parents have fios/verizon they said it's sooo much better than optimum online/cablevision

What everyone has to remember is that Cablevision/Optimun Online owns the fiber optics network that Verizon is useing.
Verizon pays them a fee to use the fiberoptics, that gets passed on to the customer. This is why it's more expensive.

From what I've seen, after the initial offering, Fios costs the same per month as cable, so it's not more expensive, and Fios has a lower speed package that is cheaper than cable (as well as a faster package than cable for more money).
For me, it wasn't even a decision. Verizon beat CableVision with every comparison I did (speed, reliability, customer support, customer satisfaction, etc)

Right now we have Verizon DSL, soon to be FIOS because we are re-doing our den/famikly room and computer room and the service has been in our area for awhile now.

We got Verizon Fios Internet and phone when we moved into our house. We love it! the service is great!
With Fios your house is wired with the fiberoptic cables.

FIOS offers different internet speeds plans. Most people will not notice a difference of the speed if you had something faster the CV. If you are using a laptop that is wireless, you will never ever take advantage of the speed they give you.
FIOS at first is the same priceing of CV and when the contract expires i believe its competitve pricing.
CV is known for other issues but there internet is the best in the country.
