Who lives in Lindenhurst and do you like it???

We are looking to buy a house in an affordable area but to too far from the city. Can't go too far in because of taxes and I don't want to be house poor.

Lindenhurst seems to have some nice affordable houses. How is the area??

Lindenhurst is a great town -easy to get to-good schools-

I would stay south of sunrise - or at least as close to sunrise as possible. not a fan of north lindenhurst.

I grew up there and my mom still lives there. Lots of young families and there is a lot to do for kids (free summer day camp, parades, Little League, soccer, parks, etc). It's a nice middle class town.

I also prefer south of Sunrise. Personally I like the areas inside the village limits, but the taxes are a little higher there.

We looked all over Nassau and could not find anything...we started seaching in Lindy and I liked the area south of Mont. Hwy. Not bad and I hear the schools are good. We never found anything there but something may come up. Good Luck!!
