who else had trouble commuting today?
there was NO subway service, extreme delays on the buses, there was an hour wait to get on a bus (luckily one of the bus drivers saw me pregnant and let me cut the line) and get on the bus. There was NO way i could wait for an hour + in this heat... i still made it to work an hour late after sitting in traffic for an hour on the BQE. I had no water or breakfast with me etc.
Next time i'm turning around and going home! I seriously dont think i can do much more of this commuting. Its too draining.

I am lucky that I am able to work from home now.
However, my DH usually has about an hour and 10 minute commute from door to door into the city. He left at 6:35 this morning and didn't get into the office until almost 9:00.
His train was stopped for about 45 minutes and then he said Manhattan was crazy because there was no subway service on many lines and everyone was walking!
Kudos to all the preggo ladies who made it in today!!

My dad called me right before I left the house to tell me my train wasn't running. My DH called me minutes after to tell me he was still stuck in Brooklyn - after traveling for an hour and a half!! So I decided to hang out at home and wait. It was the best decision I made. I got on the train at 9:30 and got here at 10:45.

It took me 3 hours, and I left later this morning since I needed to work late today anyway, around 11:00. The subways were still not running for the most part, and when I got to Brooklyn on the one train I could find that was running, it was a very long wait in some very steamy heat for a bus.
I did have water though.

I did...I ended up not going in and working from home. I live in Queens and as of 5 tonight there was still no subway service running on Queens Blvd. Such a pain
